Vermont's Northeast Kingdom is comprised
of 1,313,710 acres of land and is 2,053 square miles
in total - with more dirt roads than paved! Limitless
opportunities for exploration by automobile or motorcycle
exist. Traveling from small village to small village,
you will truly get a sense of the region's rural
character. General stores owned by the same families
for generations, antique and craft stores and exquisite
views add to the experience. Our staff will be happy
to pull out the road map and outline some Favorite "loops" for
you to enjoy during your stay!
Innsider's Tip: The toll road
on Burke Mountain offers superb views of the mountain
landscape in Summer and Fall. Be prepared to pay a
small toll during peak foliage season.
